The COVID-19 pandemic has brought with it unprecedented challenges to the world we live in. For those affected by rare diseases such as our community, the challenges have been that much greater.
Unfortunately, we have decided not to hold an annual conference this year. At Team MPS, we have seen exceptional levels of demand for our services and by not holding a conference we will be better able to meet those demands and increase support in areas such as mental health.
Instead, we hope to use funds to add additional support at this time of greatest need. We have provided many existing and new services during this pandemic but in different ways and we intend to build upon this success.
In the meantime, we have moved our events online to keep everyone safe. You can view our current events here.
Even now as we hopefully begin to slowly emerge from our isolation, many issues will still be present. The MPS Society has reached out directly to over 1200 individuals and families during the pandemic to offer additional support needed by you.
There will be a time in the future for conferences and events but when it is safe to do so. Now is the time to use our resources to continue to help you make it through this crisis and rebuild lives in what will be a forever changed society, a “new normal”.
