Hannah, Kitty and Cleo are at the helm of a fantastic team of ice cream makers at Snugburys. For over 20 years they have been building amazing straw sculptures in support of charity. In 2024, a giant 45ft straw Paddington Bear appeared in their field to raise awareness for the MPS Society.
It took over 1,500 hours of dedicated work from welding, straw stuffing, willow weaving, painting and cladding for Paddington to become Snugburys largest straw statue to date. It was a true labour of love as Hannah, Kitty and Cleo set out to support their family friend’s gorgeous son Freddie who has MPSIII A.
Revealing the sculpture almost over night and sharing the big news on their social channels, the sisters commented:
“We have built a giant Paddington Bear feature in our field to raise awareness. With every new sculpture we choose a charity and this year we have chosen the MPS Society."
Very sadly our family friend’s little boy Freddie was diagnosed with this cruel and rare condition called MPS III, also known as childhood dementia. We hope to raise vital funds as the MPS Society is the only UK charity that supports families with children who have these conditions.
Paddington is free to visit, yet through ice cream sales, donation points across the farm and delightful fundraising initiatives, Snugburys have raised an extraordinary £14,000 to date!
We want to raise as much money and awareness as we can.
