The importance of clinical guidelines

Share:

Sophie Thomas from the MPS Society and James Davison, consultant in paediatric metabolic medicine at Great Ormond Street Hospital, explain the development and purpose of clinical guidelines.

The key priority of the PPPN (Patient Professional Partnership Network), a small expert working group, is to develop and approve national clinical guidelines. Clinical guidelines ensure the same high standard of care regardless of location or specialist team. They provide reassurance that care is guided by nationally agreed protocols and support but do not replace individualised decisions by your medical team.
