Together we can transform lives

The last couple of months have been jam-packed with runners racing their hearts out for rare diseases, people stepping 10,000 steps a day, fundraisers spreading awareness and people holding pub quizzes all to raise vital funds for the MPS Society. As we head towards the London Marathon, we have a whole mountain of fundraisers who have and will be taking on challenges all the name of rare. Let's see what's been happening!

London Landmarks 2025

Well done to our London Landmarks 2025 #teammps as they raised an amazing £5,155.00 including gift aid!! We are so proud of you all including 3 members of the MPS team Alison, Helen and Lianne. Big shout out to Helen L, Sandra, Frances, Morgan and Claire. We had such a great day supporting you and seeing personal bests being smashed. Thank you so much to you all for your passion, energy and efforts in raising such a fantastic amount for families and individuals affected by MPS, Fabry, and related conditions. We love you all!!

Cambridge Half Marathon

We are celebrating Kathryn Day's amazing success of completing the Cambridge Half Marathon in March with her husband Pete. She raised an absolutely incredible £1,860.00 in memory of her daughter Alex. Thank you from everyone at the MPS Society for being so inspiring and showing your strength, we are all so proud of you, you are truly amazing.

Scarlett's Active April Challenge

Thank you and well done to Scarlett who cycled 51km around the Collier's Trail for Active April raising a whopping £1,460.00!! This was all in honour of her friend Luna who has an MPS condition. We can't thank you enough Scarlett for your sheer strength and determination to raise funds and awareness for the MPS Society. You are a true MPS superhero! Watch this space as we will soon be interviewing Scarlett to see how it felt to take on such a challenge for her special friend.

A big thank you to:

  • Chris Algar who raised an incredible £2,277.00 running 5km a day for 100 days in honour of his son.

  • Lloyds Clinical Homecare for holding their annual Rare Disease Day fundraiser. They raised £638.00.

  • Liz Hindmarch and friends who raised £370.00 holding a pub quiz in memory of their very special friend Tina Chadwick.

  • Pauline Headland who gave a talk at her local Women's Institute about the MPS Society and her daughters and raised £100.00.

Step into Spring Final total

Well done to everyone who completed 310,000 steps over March to help families and individuals with rare and complex conditions. You raised an incredible £1,060.00! A special thanks goes out to our top fundraisers Sue and Leighanne. Thank you so much from everyone at the MPS Society for all your efforts and for taking part, we really hope to have you back again next time.

Awareness Week 2025

Awareness Week is on the horizon and we wanted to do an early shout out to all fundraisers to help us make this year our biggest and best ever. If you know of any schools, nurseries, colleges, community groups or companies that could hold a Wear it Blue day or a blue bake sale please get them to contact us on fundraising@mpssociety.org.uk or fill in our register an event form:
