Together we can transform lives

Share:

It has been a bumper record for fundraising this quarter with the London Marathon having one of its best results ever seen at the MPS Society. Our amazing army of runners, walkers, and wear it blue fundraisers have been bringing in phenomenal amounts, with each person having their own personal reasons for taking on their challenge. Here are some of those amazing fundraising stories from the last few months.

Around the Rock

A massive MPS Society thank you to Tom, Scott and Sam for taking on the 'Around the Rock' challenge in Jersey in memory of Ollie. They raised a fantastic £10,580 for the MPS Society and Acorns Children's Hospice. Thank you also to Tom's sister-in-law Anna-Marie who also raised £600 for this challenge. We can't thank you all enough for the funds and awareness you have raised. Tom has said 'I’m really thrilled we managed to raise so much for you! Planning for next year is coming on nicely'. We can't wait Tom!

Andy and Kayleigh's Half Marathons for Louis

Andy took on The Brooklyn half and Kayleigh The Great Manchester half marathon all in honour of their nephew Louis who has an MPS condition. They raised an incredible £3,831.00 and have said 'Together, we can help Louis and our family face this challenge with courage and determination. Let's make a real impact on Louis' journey to better health'. Thank you so much Kayleigh and Andy for your fantastic efforts and for supporting Louis and families who are affected by MPS, Fabry, and related conditions. You have been truly inspiring.

A big thank you to:

  • We would like to say a special thank you to Shauna and Steven Varey who back in May set up a GoFundMe page in memory of their son Noah who had an MPS condition. With the support from friends and family they raised an incredible £4,339.00 for our 'Wear it Blue' campaign.

  • Emma Green who ran the Great Manchester Half in honour of Hudson who also has an MPS condition. Emma raised an amazing £245.00.

  • Dr Ashwin Roy who ran the Sutton Fun Run and raised an incredible £1,504.00.

  • Richard Cooling and his family with their annual 12-hour football match in honour of his brother Jonathan who has MPS 3 raising a fantastic £2,132.00.

  • Thank you to Jonny Hayward for running in the LCW Welsh Marathon in memory of his sister, Angelene. He raised an amazing £1,368.00 and has already applied for next years!

  • We’d also like to send a huge thank you to the Goodwin family for holding a fantastic charity luncheon in June. More info and total raised to follow soon, but we hear that it was a super event!

London Marathon 2024

A HUGE thank you to our 2024 London Marathon team Jon, Jess, Hana, Damian, Craig, Kevin, James and Joe. They ran their hearts out for their own personal reasons and raised a phenomenal amount for the MPS Society. Their team total this year is £52,000 including Gift Aid. Thanks also to Joe who was originally meant to run last year and had raised over £6,500 for us! It was great to see him speed by this year instead. Massive thank you to all the cheer squads who supported our runners on the day and to every single person who donated. To our 2024 team, CONGRATULATIONS for completing the TCS London Marathon.

Awareness Week 2024

We had a phenomenal response to this year’s MPS Awareness Week and a wide variety of events took place including our bespoke Big Give campaign. Lots of schools, nurseries, specialist centres all took part in 'Wear it Blue' cake sales and coffee mornings, pub quizzes, a golf day, a football presentation, an event at a garden centre, a charity shop and a care home, a half marathon, some amazing online fundraisers and of course some wonderful donations from some very kind individuals and companies. Thank you to everyone who wore it blue in May for the MPS Society or held an event during Awareness Week! This has been our biggest and best Awareness Week campaign to date. Well done to everyone who helped to raise over £28,000! We cannot thank you all enough for your efforts and help in supporting our families and individuals affected by MPS, Fabry, and related conditions with their mental health and well being. THANK YOU! Don’t forget to check out our super Wear it Blue gallery.

You've raised over a £100k - thank you!!
