Willow Foundation Special Days and Treats

Share:

For people living with a life-threatening illness, every day is precious. The pressures of diagnosis, treatment and recovery can have a devastating effect on work and family life. Willow aims to redress the balance: providing unique and unforgettable Special Days and Special Treats tailored to your needs. They make every effort to ensure a stress-free, seamless experience, not just meeting but exceeding your expectations.

We are pleased to announce that all of our members aged 16- 40 qualify for special days and treat boxes offered by the Willow Foundation.

What are the special days and treat boxes?

For some a Special Day is their last chance to fulfil a dream, for others, it provides the opportunity to simply return some normality back into their lives or mark the end of treatment and a new beginning. But for all, a Special Day creates treasured memories at the most difficult of times. Special Days are currently restricted to those in palliative care/non-curative or with degenerative conditions.

Special Treats are personalised gift boxes filled with luxury items with a different theme for each box, including pampering, food/drink, family fun and many other ways to give a positive boost to those that need it most. Special Treats are open to all applicants who meet their eligibility criteria, including those receiving curative treatment.

How to apply

If you are interested in applying for a special day or treat box, please fill out our online form here.

Please note, you have to be an MPS Society member to be eligible or else we won't have the information we need to refer you. If you would like to become a member, please click here.

Prioritising medical urgency

They are prioritising cases by medical urgency, which was a key factor highlighted in a recent survey to their regular referrers. They found that 81% of those who responded identified medical urgency as the most important factor to consider if Willow had to reduce its service numbers.

They have also developed a new online application system, which is much quicker to complete and should dramatically improve the experience of referring patients to Willow. Please click here for more information on how to submit applications going forward.

Thank you

Willow is extremely keen to help as many young adults with rare diseases as possible. Please do apply and help us to improve quality of life and make memories for many more families.

If you have any questions about applying please do not hesitate to email Beverley.Barclay@willowfoundation.org.uk or fill out our online form.
